This is really nice! Would love to see a dark theme as well and hopefully someone would be kind enough to write a wordpress plugin as well.

@richard Seems to be working fine, you fixed it? If not, can you give me details, what browser are you using on what operating system?

I’ll be able to help you, thanks!

@MAK The commenting ability would be nice. However it would require additional work on the developper part to setup/configure a database to be able to handle the comment.

It’s just to hard to make it work for everyone.

However, I do plan on adding some functionnalities, like ajax page load, iFrame page load, aute resizing of images if the go behond viewing area.

    Thanks for your input!

What is your source for those images? I’d like a larger version of a couple of them as wallpapers if such a version exists somewhere.

    Hello,

Thanks for the script, overall it’s great!
I have a question though, the picture description, or part of it, seems to show up behind the white area or cut off on pictures that are very tall. I tried tinkering around in the css files but could not get the text to appear in front of the white. Also, the file within the /js folder is all on one line.

Please visit my site and click “Work”. As you flip through the images you will see what I’m talking about. How can I fix this behavior?

Please email me at aarlof [@] gmail [.] com if you can make any suggestions.

@pyre: Sources were from: http://www.flickr.com/photos/soul101 However, I removed them after he asked me to remove them. Thanks

@Aaron: I hear you, this is a behavior I forgot to test, this will get fixed soon.

this script looks awesome and very simple to implement. just curious as if it will work with flash files?

  16. Stephane Caron
    Apr 17 at 21:42

@Andrew Right now flash is not supported. But support for flash, ajax calls and iframes is in the work.

I wanted to get the clone done, then i’ll start implementing additional functionalities.

Hi! Thanks for your nice work!
Well, I tried your script right now: I wrote a simple page in html, with a big image to open using your script. The result is that the image is open, but is cut on his top by the browser window, since the picture is a lot taller than the webpage.
Have you already found this problem?

    Kind regards…

@gis Yes I am aware of this problem. I plan of adding the feature of auto resizing if the image is larger than the viewing area. Should be added in the near future!

the single image option is buggy - it still shows a “previous image” link when there is none. and clicking on it breaks the whole thing. any ideas?

  24. Stephane Caron
    May 05 at 07:39

@shmack I’m pretty sure it’s because the rel attribute is set as if there was a gallery (prettyPhoto[galleryName]). I’ll look into the issue, in the meantime, can you simply remove the gallery from the rel attribute for testing (if there’s one!)

    Thanks!

The issue with the previous button has been fixed.

It is recommended to updated your prettyPhoto files!

    Thanks

    Hi, Stephane!

I have many ideas to improve your plugin. You would make it more attractive if you added proper support for large images. In addition to resizing them to fit, you could give the viewer a choice between

    a) Using a loupe (zooming in on certain sections) as demonstrated by Apple Aperture
    b) Dragging across the image
    c) Using the mouse wheel to adjust the zoom factor, in companion with the previous two options.

Drop me a line if you want more details.

@eapen: nice idea, i will be releasing a wordpress plugin based on stephane’s work.
